Part I —

  • What people think of you does not matter—only what God thinks matters.
  • Discouragement from people (even Christians) often reflects human thinking, not God’s will.
  • God’s chosen people are often misunderstood, doubted, or rejected.
  • Step one: God knows who you are.
    Step two: If others believe in you, praise God; if not, keep going faithfully.
  • Worldly reasoning and un-prayerful Christians often “propose” ideas totally contrary to God’s plan.
  • Biblical examples:
    • David’s anointing (1 Samuel 16) — God chooses based on the heart, not appearance.
    • Elisha at Dothan (2 Kings 6) — God’s spiritual reality is different from what people see.
    • 1 Corinthians 1:27–29 — God uses the weak and foolish to shame the mighty.
    • Mary chosen by God — ordinary in the world’s eyes, highly favored in God’s sight.

Part II — Man Proposes, God Disposes

  • Proverbs 19:21: “Man proposes, but God disposes.”
  • Secular example: Napoleon Bonaparte — his proud boast before invading Russia marked the turning point of his downfall.
  • Olympic miracle — commentators focused on two favorites, but an “unlikely” athlete won through , determination, and God’s strength.
  • Elvis Presley — rejected early (“couldn’t sing”), told to go back to driving a truck;
    yet his perseverance and spiritual longing led him to global impact.
    His gospel performances reveal his heart for Jesus.

Core Lessons

  • People may write you off—but God never does.
  • Rejection can fuel your determination to walk in God’s purpose.
  • You stand in the long line of God’s chosen who were underestimated.
  • Take courage, , and persevere.
  • Today is the “day of salvation” and God’s favor.

Summary Statement

No matter what people say—whether discouragement, rejection, or disbelief—God’s choice and God’s purpose always override man’s opinions. Like David, Mary, Akhwari, and even Elvis, your calling rests entirely on God, not on human approval.
