What is the root of so many problems in today's world? Is there any remedy, any hope?

Working together, helping each other, and showing love to those who are lonely, downcast, forgotten, mistreated will change things around. It helps the ones who receive love as well as those who give it – a win-win situation. Selfless love can give us a new outlook on life and solve our personal problems as well as those in the world. “Change the World with Love” offers concrete ideas how to make this dream become a reality.

What People Say

Book Reviews   “Change the World with Love”
This book is a treasure; it offers the story of an extra-ordinary life and beyond, covering a multitude of aspects of life. The clarity and genuineness with which the author shares his personal life’s lessons, experiences and observations, makes this book both fascinating, insightful and motivating. It is easy reading: One has the impression of sitting next to the author in a relaxed setting – like on a bench in a beautiful park – listening to him tell the story. However, this book is more than a story. It is the account of an outstanding adventure as well as an invitation to be a part of a better world. – Ruth (Bucharest, Romania)

Hello Wolfgang!
I read your book with great pleasure because it gave me a comprehensive insight into the problems of the Congo and of Africa as a whole.
Chapters 4-6 appealed to me very much because your way of bringing Christian faith nearer as a solution to the problems is sensitive and gripping.
Unfortunately, the hope of being able to change the world globally with love is becoming a more distant prospect in view of the current political situation in the world. On a small scale, however, you succeed wonderfully! – Josef Lierzer(Munich, Germany)

Dear Wolfgang,
You have presented everything really well. It is simply terrific how you lead from the first chapters about the Congo over the situation in the industrialized countries to faith in God. The transition is ingeniously structured and put into words! The book simply must even be on the bestseller lists! – Dr. Rudolf Müller (Brannenburg near Munich, Germany)

Thanks so much for your book which arrived safely! I've read 20 pages & I can honestly say it’s difficult to put down! I like that you write in clear simple English and break the text up with  regular headings. This makes it much easier (for me at least) to understand & grasp each thought or point you make. I look forward to continue reading through the book! Congrats & God bless! – Jerry (London, England)

Your book gives a good overview of your work in Congo and I also found it interesting to read how it all started. The problems of our society today are well presented and I also like the pictures in the middle of the book. All in all a good and inspiring book. Your solution approaches would be the right way to go, but I am afraid that the attitude of the rich people and countries cannot be changed so easily. Since they are driven by greed for more wealth and power, they often lose sight of the essential. Matthew 24:12 comes to mind: "And because lawlessness abounds, the love of many will grow cold." I hope and wish for you that your book will find many readers and that it will incite them to change their views. – Simon Rummel (Bavaria, Germany)

We have witnessed the creation of the book “Change the World with Love” written by Wolfgang Peter Schmidt, a dear friend of ours. Reading this very enlightening and informative book, you will find out who he is, where he lives with his dear wife Lenka and daughter Anissa, and all they have experienced and accomplished in their lives so far. We are especially impressed by their self-sacrificing attitude towards life and how they do their utmost to be a small cog outside of this world polluted by profit addiction and to be able to help where it is really necessary. In any case, we highly recommend this book. – Wolfdieter and Eva Werner (Saint Nic, France)

Good day dear Wolfgang, Yes, thank you for your life's work. I am already well over halfway through with your book. You certainly address the big issues, the exploitation of and lack of aid for the third world, attitudes etc. towards faith and its effect. Thank you, it is already a huge achievement to write such a book. Stay strong and faithful in your belief, You tireless man. Best regards, Armin – Armin Brandt (Esslingen, Germany)

“Change the World with Love” is an inspiring, refreshing, and hope-filled book which I would recommend to anyone who is confronted with challenging life problems and wants to make the world a better place. – Benjamin Davidson (Houston, Texas, USA)

Personally, I would recommend this book to people whose purpose in life is helping others. ... After I finished reading the book, I felt like a big weight was lifted off me. Now I know that every little help counts. – Richard Fojta (Prague, Czech Republic)

For me, reading this book was like taking a trip to the Congo without even stepping outside my door. It also made me realize how blessed and fortunate I am in so many ways. I was asked to read this manuscript and offer suggestions to help improve it. Little did I know that it would drastically impact and improve me. – Stephen Gilb (San Jose, California, USA)

“Change the World with Love” gives us a deep perspective into the struggles of the Congo in its turbulent history until today. W. P. Schmidt has given us a glimpse into the causes of its tribulations and what we can do about it. He is putting his faith into action through his fruitful educational works there.  – Curtis Peter van Gorder (Dresden, Germany)

If you are interested in the Africa adventure and want to know what drives people like Wolfgang and Lenka to dedicate their life's work to a country like the Congo, I would like to heartily recommend this book to you. I learned a lot about the country and the people there, and was happy about the rays of hope that Wolfgang's stories offered me between all the discouraging news that constantly reach us from the great continent of Africa. Faith and love are two great recurring themes in this book and I think who else would be better suited to talk about these topics than Wolfgang and Lenka, who have dedicated their whole lives to the service of others. – Anita L. (Munich, Germany)

The book “Change the World with Love” by Wolfgang Peter Schmidt [...] takes us to his school project “Mushapo” in the DR Congo. At the beginning, the author describes the everyday life in and the historical contexts of this country and thus gives a good overview of the possibilities of his help. His vision: to provide children in a poor country with education, which should lead to self-help. Together with his wife, an on-site team, many supporters at home and abroad, and the association “Aktive Direkt Hilfe e. V.,” he can put this project into practice. In doing so, he tries to make the impossible possible and documents it with many situations and photos. What inner drive helps him not to give up and to keep going despite failures? His great love for God and the people, but also his remarkable organizational skills. As a Christian missionary, he seeks practical solutions to give disadvantaged people a better life, especially children. This book is a documentation of love, and the appeal to help is touching, encouraging and needs the support of all of us who are fortunate enough to live in a prosperous country. It was given to me with the question, “Is this project still worth supporting?” After all that I have read in the book and have been able to research about the association “Aktive Direkt Hilfe e. V.,” my answer is YES. Here the saying proves true: Love can move mountains. Therefore, I will gift the book to friends. It is worth it! – Ute Wimpff (Stuttgart, Germany)
